The presentation will be divided into two parts; the first presenting a proposed structured approach for the compilation of a risk-based audit plan. This will cover topics such as the creation of a meaningful audit universe, what considerations to take in risk identification, the importance of communication with, and the input of, other key stakeholders, and what one should consider to ensure that the audit plan really adds value to the organization. The second part of the seminar presents some suggestions of how one can devise an internal audit strategic plan which has now become a requisite under the new Global Internal Audit Standards.
