Auditing Fraud
Event Description
Location: Online Live Session | Webinar
Session 01: Thursday, 03 December 2026 | 14:00 - 17:15

The presentation provides an internal audit‑focused overview of fraud, combining global insights with practical application. It covers key fraud typologies, drivers such as the fraud triangle, and typical fraudster profiles based on ACFE data. It highlights how fraud develops within routine processes, the role of red flags and controls, and why fraud persists despite established frameworks. The session also examines fraud risk governance, clarifies the role of internal audit, and addresses common misconceptions. Overall, it links fraud theory to audit practice, emphasising risk awareness, professional scepticism, and an organisation‑wide approach to managing fraud risk.
