Description

A board of directors is required to be effective. In order to achieve this it is necessary for board members to understand their individual responsibilities. The Board is also required to organise itself to perform the necessary tasks effectively. One of the ways this is achieved is through board committees. Certain board functions are allocated to designated board committees to ensure a greater focus and more thorough review of the matters falling under their remit. Board committees are ultimately answerable to and report to the Board.

This course offers an introduction to the functions of board committees, the instruments governing the role and powers of board committees, the legal and regulatory framework applicable to board committees in Malta. This session is also useful for individuals sitting on board committees to understand what their obligations are and how they can perform their role effectively. The latest regulatory developments applicable to board committees will also be considered.

The course includes some case studies designed to reinforce key topics addressed throughout the training session and to illustrate how to make use of the comprehensive practical guidance in the course notes.Download Event Brochure
