The session will be covering a number of IFRSs on tangible and intangible assets, mainly:
- IAS16 Property, Plant and Equipment
- IAS 38 Intangible Assets
- IAS 40 Investment Property
The speakers will be going through the key definitions, initial recognition considerations, initial and subsequent measurement options of the abovementioned assets as well as the various disclosure requirements set out in IFRS. The three hour presentation will also include a number of worked-out examples highlighting some practical considerations encountered by local companies when accounting for assets.
Maria Attard holds a Master in Accountancy from the University of Malta and a Diploma in VAT Compliance from the Institute of Indirect Taxation U.K. Maria joined the Accounting Support Services department of KPMG on a full-time basis in 2014. Over the years, she has been entrusted with a vast portfolio of both local and international clients across various industries. Her current responsibilities include book keeping, VAT compliance, compilation of periodic management accounts, compilation of statutory annual reports and other related support services.
Yanika Caruana has joined KPMG in 2014, following the completion of a Master in Accountancy from the University of Malta. She has undertaken a course in VAT Compliance with the Institute of Indirect Taxation U.K. and even though she currently works in the Accounting Support Services department, she has also assisted in a number of audit engagements. Throughout her employment, Yanika has built a portfolio of local and international clients ranging from various industries. Her current responsibilities include book-keeping, the compilation of monthly management accounts and statutory annual reports, VAT compliance and other related support services.
